I go to karaoke at a place where the KJ plays videos between karaoke sets and I thought it would be so cool if he had Chloe's new song to play. He'd probably really like it and not to mention it would get more people to hear her song. Smiley

That would be pretty cool.

This song definitely needs an official music video.

Those "Topic" YouTube videos are getting auto-populated from some online song repositories. Then either YouTube or the record labels are having them taken down as soon as they notice them.

It has something to do with the royalty disputes between YouTube and the labels. Those "Topic" videos used to have almost every song from every album you could think of. Then in a very short time, they all became "unavailable" and never came back online.

Ahhh, I see what's going on.

It's a regional license. It only works in certain countries (ie. the US). I can't view them in Canada since YouTube's license for that material (in this case, from CDBaby) doesn't include Canada. A more descriptive message than "this video is not available" would have been appreciated. But perhaps they intentionally leave the message vague to prevent people from thinking of the workaround below...

I can view it through a US proxy (note: it also has to be one that allows flash and other content on YouTube). For example:
https://www.proxfree.com/youtube-proxy.php

You basically put in the link for the YouTube video that's blocked and then you can play it.

I can't vouch for the safety of any proxy. I'd strongly advise not to pass any sensitive information through or log in to any important accounts while connected to a proxy. It might not be a secure connection.

Anyways, YouTube is certainly aware of this and no doubt takes measures to block connections through proxies, so it may take a bit of effort sometimes to find a working one.

Happy viewing!

Oh, if anyone has any thoughts what she's saying after "final embers," please let me know.

She does that line twice in the song. Both times, it sounds to me like the word starts with a "th" ... it sounds like it ends up rhyming with "light," but I'm not aware of any words that make sense in context that start with that sound and end up rhyming like that. I thought maybe she's not actually saying "of" before "embers" and whatever the next word is.

When she says "light" in "slowly sways until the last light is gone," the word "light" is very clear. So unless she's somehow rolling words together so it sounds to me like a "th" whatever comes after "final embers" could be a different word or words. Irish don't normally pronounce "th" like the though, so maybe it's "ph."

I'm starting to think it's one word instead of two.

Final embers aflight?

I'm not 100% if she's singing:

So I take every chance

or

So I'll take every chance

Any thoughts?

Based on various Instagram stories, it sounds like Chloë wrapped up recording for her album!

I imagine the 3 remaining M's (mixing, mastering, and marketing) will still take some time.

I kind of stumbled across this one:
https://soundcloud.com/joshuaspacht/like-an-angel

Listen to it before you read the rest of the post.

Does it sound familiar at all?

LOL!!!!

To re-iterate, Josh is in fact the writer and producer of Chloë's new EP, but I guess he wrote and recorded Like An Angel on his own around 3 years ago. That's something I did not know until I stumbled across this while looking for a non-Spotify version of Like An Angel to help promo Chloë's EP on Twitter.

It's pretty much the same arrangement that Chloë sings. It sounds great, but I do have to say, Chloë takes this song to another level!

I honestly don't mind that it's not Chloë's song. Although the lyrics and melody aren't hers, she absolutely stakes claim to that song through her epic vocals.

Hopefully the rest of the album will be coming soon, although you may not want to listen to the rest of Josh's music unless you want possible spoilers!  Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy

P.S.

It was easier to make out some of the lyrics in Josh's original version (due to less intense backing orchestration, among other things), so I updated the lyrics from earlier in this thread:
http://www.celticwomanforum.com/index.php?topic=21549.msg1039594#msg1039594

I'm 98% sure they're all correct now (it's at least very, very close to being right).
