This isn't exactly new news, but Anto has been signing copies of his album "Celtic Piper" during the Homecoming Tour.

I'm not sure if that was just for the first few shows or if he's just got boxes of these along for the tour.

But looking back at some old Tweets today made think of something...

The last time I remember someone signing their CDs on a Celtic Woman tour was Mairead Nesbitt during Destiny. I think that was a wise strategy on her part:
- Generate sales while still in direct contact with the Celtic Woman fan base at each venue
- Generate some extra revenue to fund Hibernia and Devil's Bit Sessions
- Help maximize interest in her solo material (and anticipation thereof) in advance of her album launches

What I'm wondering though is why is Anto signing his album on this particular tour? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I've got a not-so-funny feeling about this.

I bet it's a combination of what you posted. Most people sign copies so they can sell more albums, and get more interest from fans, and get new fans. I bet this is especially true when it comes to the CW band. During and after the shows could be the best time to sell albums, because CW fans will see them and pick them up. CDs being signed increases sales. Increased revenue means more music.
