Chariman, CEO, and co-founder of Celtic Woman passed away on April 6, 2018. https://www.facebook.com/celticwoman/posts/10156284950137838It is with great sadness we share the news that our Chairman and Chief Executive Dave Kavanagh passed away peacefully this morning at Blackrock Clinic. Dave will be sorely missed by his wife Rhona, his son Luke and daughter Phoebe, his family, all those who work with him at the labels, the artists and his many friends both within and outside the music industry worldwide.
Dave was a giant of the music industry with a massive life long love for it. The industry will be a lesser place without him.
From being U2’s first booking agent to managing Clannad to global success throughout the Eighties and then bringing the musical phenomenon Celtic Woman to huge International success and launching the career of The High Kings amongst many others. He has been at the helm of the Celtic Collections record label since 2004 bringing great Irish Music to an audience around the world.Celtic Woman may not have become what it did without Mr. Kavanagh at the helm. He indirectly had a huge impact on almost all of our lives and he will be missed. Rest in peace, sir ... and thank you.

Here's Irish Times Article: https://www.irishtimes.com/news/ireland/irish-news/u2-s-first-booking-agent-david-kavanagh-has-died-aged-62-1.3453393MrPeabody saw them last night. The girls were pretty devastated and the girls had to really fight to hold back their emotions. They got each other through it though and they really appreciate all the strength from the fans in attendance and online. The familiar faces in the audience game them a lot of comfort. They dedicated My Heart Will Go On to Mr. Kavanagh and each shared a word about how special he was to them.

Eabha wrote a beautiful poem in memory of Mr. Kavanagh. https://www.instagram.com/p/BhW1mRZnA4E/?taken-by=eabhamcmahoncelticwoman@eabhamcmahoncelticwoman: We can't believe an angel, took you today. If we promised her the world, would she not just let you stay? If we told her you were special, would she not just change her mind? If only we could keep you safe, somewhere she couldn't find. If we told her all the plans you had, adventures far and near, And played the music that you made, would she not just leave you here? If she saw the way you gave your time, and made others feel worthwhile, the way you told a story, the way you made us smile. Do you think that she may change her mind, and bring you back some day? Or come to see us in our dreams, to tell us you're ok.
Maybe you were an angel, living here on earth, Maybe you were so special, she sent you here at birth. Maybe she needs you up there now, to join the brightest stars, to watch over all the ones you love, who wonder where you are. She said on days when music plays, To know that you are near, Your beloved wife and children they, will keep your spirit here. The sky was bright and you asleep, When she took your hand today, And guided you towards the light, To a place not far away. A place where you can keep an eye, And guide us through the day, To watch us laugh and cry and sing, It's in our hearts you'll stay

I know that some of the "fans" on the fringe of the CW community had their issues with Dave, but like Tom said, without him we wouldn't have this amazing gift for the past thirteen (nearly fourteen) years. From the bottom of my heart I can say go raibh maith agat and offer prayers of comfort for the Kavanagh family. I can't put into words how much all of the girls have been a huge blessing and comfort to me. It takes a special kind of human being to recognize the talent and potential that Dave saw in all these women. Rest in power, sir.
