It's a great pity that they've all been transferred without preserving the original widescreen aspect ratio (16x9), making the picture distorted -- vertically "stretched." That leaves all of the performers looking too narrow.

Great to see them on at last, even though subtitles distract me! But now I can bother all my friends with them.  Cheesy

Calling all language scholars.....
Anyone out there who could translate the latin that's sung at the very beginning? I tried and could really only put together the first few words and then I got lost trying to piece the words together mainly because of the different verb tenses and thus the word meanings, and well.....I'm also no latin expert or scholar.  Here's what I have and if you can fill in the blanks, feel free.

Veni, redemptor gentium
   Come, Redeemer of the nations

ostende partum Virginis
                          Virgin/Mary

meretur omne saeculum
               all/every

talis decet partus Deum
                            God

Veni, redemptor gentium,
ostende partum Virginis;
miretur omne saeculum:
talis decet partus Deum.

Translation

O COME, Redeemer of the earth,
and manifest thy virgin-birth.
Let every age in wonder fall:
such birth befits the God of all.

The other bit of the chant is from Isaiah 9:6 which is used at the beginning of Mass on Christmas Day:

Puer natus est nobis
A child (literally - a boy) is born to us

Filius datus est
A son is given to us

Ooh, thanks for inquiring about the Latin, I didn't even notice that it was there!
I watched the concert with closed captions and I got all excited because I study Latin at my high school.
If we find Latin in everyday current usage, we get extra credit!  Grin
