SIMBANG GABI is a Christmas tradition in the Philippines.
I don't know if we have any Forum Members who are from the Philippines.
Is Marie-France from there?

We have a large Filipino community at my Church, Holy Family in Orlando.
They have their own choir, which sings beautiful happy music.

Every morning at 4:30am, starting on Dec 15th and continuing until 23rd, there is a special Dawn Mass to prepare for Christmas.

The Mass in mostly in English, with readings and hymns in Tagalog.
After Mass there is a reception in the social hall with delicious Filipino food.
The atmosphere is upbeat and surprisingly lively for that hour of the morning!
No, I'm not from the Philippines, but I think this is such a wonderful tradition to prepare for the Birth of Jesus, that it's worth the effort to get up at 4:00am.

Maligayang Pasko!!!
