Hmmmm. The Colt(or is that pronounced Solt) definietly is a piece of intimidation thanks to Samuel Colt.

So Colt, Celtic and teh like are hard C like K, not soft like S.

Samuel Colt was an American inventor and industrialist. He was the founder of the Colt's Patent Fire-Arms Manufacturing Company (now known as Colt's Manufacturing Company), and is widely credited with popularizing the revolver. His revolving-breech pistol became so popular that the word "Colt" was sometimes used as a generic term for the revolver. Need more? Ever heard of teh M-16? Colt marketed the AR-15 rifle to various military services around the world, including the U.S. Air Force, Army, and Marine Corps.

In its original form, the word "Celtic" is pronounced with a "k" as it is taken from the Greek word "keltoi".

On a side note:  AK's were made to take an extreme amount of neglect and punishment.  I've come across stories of AKs operating in conditions (and crud) that would make anyone in charge of an armory weep.

Perhaps like the word Caesar is pronounced See-zar  by some and Ki-zar by others?
