Irish music fans now have a new alternative to YouTube in the form of Dublin-based site Muzu.tv.

The new website offers access to tens of thousands of premium videos for free, much like YouTube. Although it sets itself apart from the video website, it now looks set to rival it.

This comes after YouTube recently decided to block UK users from accessing premium videos on their site. Graeme Slattery, head of marketing at Muzu.tv, described the website as "purpose-built for the music industry".

Rights

When asked what sets the website apart from others of its kind, Mr Slattery said that it "deals directly with the artists, providing videos of reasonable quality". He added that as "the website is run in a totally professional context, rights are clear".
