Stone Street Gives Back!
Streetfest 2009

Where: Stone St. in New York
(between Pearl St. and South William St.)
When: Saturday May 16th 2009 12pm-late

Streetfest May 16th 2009 - the annual Streetfest returns! This year, the pubs and restaurants on Stone Street are once again aiming to raise funds and awareness for GOAL's work in the developing world. We invite you to spend the day wining and dining in the sunshine, enjoying music out on the sunny cobbled streets of New York's oldest paved street, and support a great and important cause at the same time.

The event will take place from noon and carry on into the evening. Proceeds from all purchases will benefit GOAL.

Stone Street's restaurants and pubs have become famous for their annual Oyster Festivals which attract thousands of revelers from throughout the New York area and beyond. Streetfest will be comprised of Adrienne's Pizza Bar, Beckett's, Burger Burger, The Dubliner, Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina, Smorgas Chef, Stone Street Tavern, Ulysses' Folkhouse, and Water Stone Grill. Highlights of the day include outdoor eating and drinking, live music into the evening, and much more.

Last year's funds went to building a school and providing learning materials and water and sanitation facilities for children in Kenya. This has provided 400 children with access to a proper education in a safe and sanitized environment. For the second annual festival, Stone Street proprietors aim to at least match, and hopefully exceed the funds raised last year.

Before: Existing Classroom
After: Reconstructed School

GOAL has responded to every major natural and man-made disaster since its inception in 1977, spending over $795 million in 50 countries, helping ordinary people who find themselves in terrible situations through no fault of their own. GOAL is proud to have done this at an exceptionally low administration cost which means that all funds raised go directly to those who need it most.

New York's oldest paved street will kick start the summer with Streetfest 2009.

Thanks Rich. While we heard that Goal is the CW favorite charity, this shows what they do.
