They're good, but the Oak Ridge Boys can give them a run for their money.
Along time ago, the Oaks lip-synched to a tape of it, until their then road manager accidently tripped over wires and unplugged the tape player. The incident was embarrasing enough for them that they learned the song, with 4-part counter-point harmony, & they've done it live ever since. It sounds gorgeous !!

When Whitney Houston sang it at the Super Bowl in 1991, I thought it was the best I'd ever heard. It may still be, but now I wish she'd never done it. It seems like, since then, everybody wants to stylize the Anthem and make it their own and that really irritates me. The National Anthem isn't about the performer, it's about the Country. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2WQy3mYDDA. I like the combined choirs. I like Whitney. I like The Cactus Cuties http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKCVS57j284. I HATE Rosanne Barr for making a joke of it. Gary

Also, Demi Lovato sang the national anthem and added a million little embellishments and it sounded very pitchy bc she tried way too hard. The National Anthem is supposed to be smooth and pure. I like the way the Academy Choirs did it.

I have always said that our national anthem should be sung as it is written - it doesn't need embellishment. Sometimes you can barely recognize the melody with some of these singers. Nike says "Just do it!" I say "Just SING it!!"
