I should add - to my previous post - that you can not drive on the beaches in Ireland.

The beach where I fell asleep in my car.....I was very safe, on the shoreline where the tide does not reach.
It was a very remote beach which I know well.......nobody for miles around. I had only the seagulls for company.

As a tourist I can guarantee you would not find it.......unless you had a guide, of course! Wink

drive on the beach? Like on the sand or along side the beach? I dont see many people driving on the beach like on the sand where i live and i live near the beach lol

Over here on Daytona Beach, this is what happens:

I hate it!......they can pollute the beach with oil and fumes, but God help anyone who tries to walk a dog on there.

This beach in Mayo is what beaches should look like........

but dogs poop on the beach. cars just drop oil, fuels, and pollute the air.

My mother-in-law always had 2 dogs.
After Dad-in-law retired from the Navy, he got a job at Kennedy Space Center and they lived on the Space Coast.
Mom walked her dogs twice a day on Satellite Beach FL from 1959 to 1989,
undisturbed and peaceful. She was meticulous about cleaning up after her dogs.
Other humans were not so clean, leaving cigarettes, cans, bottles and disgusting garbage behind.
.
Then.....some greedy developers decided to build blocks of condos right on the beach, and Mum was told
she and her dogs could no longer enjoy their daily walks.
I will not repeat her comments.....you can imagine them I'm sure.

The inevitable happened......beach erosion.
That beach was never meant for buildings......they keep trying to shore it up with more sand, it costs the residents a fortune to combat the inevitable forces of nature.
I can just imagine Mom's smile of satisfaction...... Cool

Anyway....to stay on topic, I hope nobody will ever be allowed to park on Irish Beaches.
Add it to your list of what not to do in Ireland.

Beaches are for marine life, wild life.....redheads, dogs and horses.  Cheesy

THIS is a no-no in Ireland and everywhere else:

years ago my folks and I went to Canada on vacation. As we came back across the border , we knew immediately we were on US territory due to the roadside trash.

Sad.
