And here is all of PBS's pres stuff for the new CW show, Songs From The Heart. The photos are at the bottom and they are HUGE as always. Just click on them to download them directly from PBS.

NOTE: The song list here is for the PBS version of the show. That's also why it's in four parts. What this means is that songs we know were recorded, Carolina Rua & True Colors, aren't on the list.

CELTIC WOMAN: SONGS FROM THE HEART
November-December 2009 (check local listings)

– Concert at Historic Powerscourt House and Gardens Features Irish Classics, Contemporary Covers and Original Compositions –

CELTIC WOMAN: SONGS FROM THE HEART, part of special programming airing in November-December 2009 on PBS stations, was recorded in Enniskerry, County Wicklow, Ireland, at the historic Powerscourt House and Gardens, location of such films as Barry Lyndon, The Count of Monte Cristo and the cable series “The Tudors.” The special was filmed in HD in July 2009 before an audience of 1,000 fans gathered at the 13th-century castle and surrounding 47-acre estate.

The breathtaking gardens, based on those at the Palace of Versailles, were an ideal location for the five women who compose Celtic Woman: vocalists Lisa Kelly, Chloe Agnew, Lynn Hilary and Alex Sharpe and violinist Mairead Nesbitt. Their six-piece Celtic Woman band was augmented for this event with the 12-member Aontas Choir, 27-piece film orchestra, the 20-member Discovery Gospel Choir, 10-member Extreme Rhythm Drummers and an 11-piece bagpipe ensemble, in order to bring musical director and composer David Downes’ musical vision to life.

To the delight of their dedicated fans, the musical repertoire ranges from spirited Celtic fiddle and bodhran pieces to lush arrangements of Irish classics, contemporary covers and original compositions. Celtic Woman, “… one of the most wildly popular singing groups on the planet” (Cincinnati Examiner), makes their own such favorites as Jimmy Webb’s “The Moon’s a Harsh Mistress,” Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “Pie Jesu,” Sting’s “Fields of Gold,” Billy Joel’s “Good Night My Angel,” Bing Crosby’s “Galway Bay,” Mariah Carey’s “When You Believe,” as well as “My Lagan Love,” “Nil se’n la,” “The Call,” “Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears” and more. Celtic Woman’s latest hit single, “O, America!,” features the Discovery Gospel Choir and a fireworks display in the Irish sky.

CELTIC WOMAN: SONGS FROM THE HEART, a true celebration of Ireland and the pure essence of Celtic Woman, is the fifth collaboration between the multiplatinum group and PBS.

PBS doesn't allow for you to just view the pictures on their site, you have to download them. And, if you'll note the sizes under the pictures, they're HUGE so it might take a while to download them.

Thank you, Lindsey, for the great find.  Gorgeous photos (of course!).  Just a guess, but I would imagine Carolina Rua and True Colors, while not in the PBS presentation, will be on the DVD and CD.

A song in Irish they haven't done before is:
Nil se’n la

This was a big hit for Clannad, you can hear it here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPaT-o4kd9k&feature=related

Níl Sé ina Lá (Níl Sé'n Lá)

Chuaigh mé isteach i dteach aréir
is d'iarr mé cairde ar mhnaoi an leanna.
Is é dúirt sí liom "Ní bhfaighidh tú deor.
Buail an bóthar is gabh abhaile."

Curfá:
Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá,
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin,
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill,
solas ard atá sa ghealaigh.

Chuir mé féin mo lámh i mo phóca
is d'iarr mé briseadh scillinge uirthi.
Is é dúirt sí liom "Suigh síos ag bord
is bí ag ól anseo go maidin."

"Éirigh i do shuí, a fhear an tí,
cuir ort do bhrístí is do hata
go gcoinne tú ceol leis an duine cóir
a bheas ag ól anseo go maidin."

Nach mise féin an fear gan chéill
a d'fhág mo chíos in mo scornaigh?
D'fhág mé léan orm féin
is d'fhág mé séan ar dhaoine eile.

English translation:
It's Not Yet Day

I went into a public house last night
and I asked the barwoman for credit
She said to me "You won't get a drop
Hit the road and go home."

Chorus:
It's not yet day, it's not my love,
it's not yet day and it won't be 'till morning,
it's not yet day and it won't be yet,
A high light is in the moon.

I put my hand in my pocket
and I asked for the change of a shilling.
She said to me, "Sit down at the table
And drink here until the morning."

"Rise up, man of the house,
put on your trousers and your hat,
'till you keep music with the good person
who'll be drinking here until morning."

Amn't I the senseless man
Who left my rent in my throat
I brought anguish on myself
and left others prosperous.
